About my comics …
If you managed to find yourself here, then you’re probably wondering what it was that spawned this website into existence. Well, that’s not so easy to answer. You see, I was building a universe. Not in the sense that Mr. Gris and Kitty Jacobi are building a universe in my comic, but I guess you can think of it that way. To answer that question at least partially, this website could be contingent on a lot of things, including the universal cosmological constant, Gödel’s incompleteness theorem, and whether or not we can truly know the constituents of particles beyond the subatomic level. Certainly, however, a lot of my influence can be traced back to Jorge Luis Borges, an Argentinian writer, poet, and philosopher, whose stories give the surreal a touch of mathematical rigor. In an effort to discover how math can inform our understanding of physics, I was inspired by Borges’ ideas, and I decided to take his approach and turn it into a story involving new characters and new, as yet unresolved problems in modern physics. Perhaps you’ll come away with answers, or perhaps you’ll end up having more questions than you started out with. In any case, prepare yourself for the surreal.
